Digital Marketing is the entire craze nowadays. It may be a haze between SEO, Content Marketing and Inbound Marketing but whatever you call it, if you are marketing a product, person or service using the World Wide Web to reach Smart Phones, Mobile Devices, PCs and Laptops, then you are practically into the Digital Marketing practice.

Digital marketing seems to be easy because everyone seems to know how to go around it but it’s not what it looks like on the surface. Yes it’s easy and usually free to post, promote or advertise whatever product or service through the Internet, but have you actually reached your ultimate goal? And by ultimate goal, it means sales or your Return of Investment (ROI).

A Digital Marketing strategy is not just about merely posting and updating your website, blog or social media account. Even though the possibility of a million people who can have access to it is always there, a sound marketing strategy and high-end targeting is still needed. With the number of websites and social sites and the number of other products and entertainment available online, how can you assure yourself that people will actually take the time to visit your domain?

Yet even with careful planning and targeting, there’s always a possibility that your implemented Digital Marketing strategy will fail or won’t turn out as expected. When your ROI cannot even reach the quota or your website traffic did not just have enough momentum for a certain period of time, then it is time to rethink and re-organize your Digital Marketing efforts.

Before organizing another Digital Marketing plan, you must ask yourself these questions to evaluate your existing campaign:

  • Is my website and its contents fully Search Engine Optimized?
  • Did I choose the right keywords for optimization?
  • Do I have high quality content that is useful for my target market?
  • Is my domain free from spam and other irrelevant links?
  • Which of my content was most popular among my visitors?
  • Did I choose the right social site to promote my enterprise?
  • Is my social media account alive with interaction?
  • Is my website available for Mobile use?
  • Did my brand connect on an emotional level with my target market?

It is important to evaluate your existing campaign first so that you will know where are the weak points and how can you improve them. Here are general tips on how to improve your existing Digital Marketing strategy.

1.) Get rid of black-hat SEO practices.

Obviously, making use of black-hat SEO techniques is a major boo. Google for one would not vote your website up if you do. So clean up those spammy links and start with new and relevant ones, improve your content and get rid of irrelevant and spammy ads on your website. It does take up a lot of time and work but it’s all going to be worth it.

2.) Keywords are crucial.

Yes, you may have well-optimized keywords but are they used by people in search queries? Remember to stick with keywords that are also comprehensible and are in layman’s term. Avoid jargons and difficult words unless it is extremely important. You can use Google’s Keyword Tool to determine which keywords are most used and relevant in your niche.

3.) Your chosen Social Networking Site also matters.

Most of us think that yes, let’s make a Facebook account, Twitter account, so on and so forth because we might gain a lot of fans and followers. But it just does not work that way, your choice of Social media actually matters—why? Because in some social networking sites like Facebook, people intentionally go there to connect with friends, share photos, videos, quotes and other stuff purely for social purposes, they don’t actually go there to look for a product or service. Facebook and Twitter however are good for engagement and informative purposes but other Social sites like LinkedIn and Google Plus are more suitable ones for professional, business-like and networking purposes.

4.) Engaging and shareable content is a must.

Then again, “Content is King”—true. But no matter how good and excellent your content is, if it is not shared throughout social media pages and other sites, then it’s definitely a waste. Nowadays, Google recognizes a well-shared or well-read content as something credible and authoritative, so provide social share buttons above or underneath your content to make it easier for your readers.

5.) Being ready for mobile use may “still” be optional.

Mobile accessibility is also the enthusiasm in Digital marketing for 2013. Although a lot of businesses are really going into it, don’t rush into there just yet. Study your target market first if they are indeed the group of people who are using or are going to use tablets, Smart Phones and the like. It’s also good to observe people’s consumer attitude with mobile gadgets first before jumping into the bandwagon.

6.) Improve Customer Relations.

When you are maintaining a social site or an email address as a business contact, do make sure that you hire and train the right person that should be in charge of it. People see your social media account and email address as something like your telephone number in the Yellow Pages so naturally, they will post or send queries, comments and other feedback onto those channels and of course, they are expecting an answer! Do remember that bad PR practices can go viral in a matter of hours so better be careful and handle Customer Relations professionally and seriously. Getting back to customers and possible leads in a short period of time increases your chance of making sales and will also increase consumer satisfaction.

A digital marketer can easily take down and replace an implemented strategy which is one of the advantages of digital marketing. However, don’t take for granted the few readers and followers you have on a certain page, always inform them whenever you are closing down or moving onto a new domain.

A digital marketing strategy is not just about change and remove, sometimes you just need to improve and tweak things a bit to let it work and that is actually the fun and challenging part! Do take note however that in digital marketing, knowing and evaluating its results and success needs some time so you also need to invest a lot of PATIENCE.

Undeniably, digital marketing needs a lot of help from SEO and Inbound Marketing concepts to work. If you need an all-out Inbound Marketing consultation, you can contact us at scaleupseo.com.

social media istock 300x225 Social Media Management: 3 Ways to Avoid a Social Media Crisis

Social media is very easy to use and everyone thinks that it is easy to go viral and achieve whatever the goal was after that. But most of us tend to forget or overlook the fact that such publicized thing can get a lot of unwanted attention just like what happened to the companies here. That’s why social media management should be an important agenda for companies that are planning to make use of social sites.

A lot of social media fail “brouhahas” had already happened especially among companies and celebrities; and be thankful it happened to them so that you can learn from it and avoid from repeating it.

Handling a social media crisis is difficult since you might deal with a worldwide shame and backlash. Once your post or tweet goes viral, it is now very difficult to stop it from spreading because even if you delete your own post, it won’t make any difference. Snapshots and other copies are already being made and shared throughout the web before you even knew it!

Nowadays, social media is beneficial for every company; it boosts their online presence and is a great tool to use for online marketing purposes. However, social media crisis can happen with just one post, one photo or video but that can be avoided in three ways.

1.) Assign a social media moderator for your social media accounts.

This is practically basic in terms of social media management. Imagine if you are getting negative feedbacks and a rolling page of agreeing comments on your social media page with no one to provide answers or words of assurance for your customer’s anger and frustration? This will ultimately affect your brand credibility and customer service quality. As much as possible, show customers that you care what they think about and that your social media page is not just some marketing ploy that is made to increase visibility and awareness. Use your social media accounts to communicate and reach out to your consumers!

2.) Orient your employees/branches about your company’s social media use.

If you are handling a business with a lot of branches and employees, it is time to provide a handbook of social media rules and guidelines. It is important to straighten out and limit the people who can have access on your social media accounts to avoid confusion and further problems. Employees on the other hand should be aware and know that posting anything harmful or shameful to the company (even if it’s outside of your company’s social media pages) will be held extremely liable. Read the social media fail cases by KFC and other known brands here and take note of some pointers!

3.) Don’t respond on impulse.

Inevitably, consumers would post negative comments regarding your products or services on your social media account. Don’t worry, every business goes through that and just be thankful that you have critics to learn and improve from.

Having negative posts on your social pages may be a bit unnerving but when you do receive one, don’t ever lose your calm! Even if the customer said inappropriate words on his or her post, take some time to reflect, consult with the owners and the employees responsible of the issues and construct a sensible response. Remember the saying that the “customer is always right”—so better apologize for any inconvenience on your part (even if you think there’s none!).

Wonder what happens if you do lose your cool with negative feedback? Read a real story here.

The most important tip to remember however is to “Think before you post”. Remember that social media is designed to be a two-way communication tool with a worldwide audience that is almost impossible to control. Strategy 300x225 Top 3 Consumer Behaviors that Should Affect your Online Marketing Plan

Running a business nowadays is more exciting because consumers are not just passive about the kind of service they get. Instead, their active and outspoken behavior through comments and reviews about your business (no matter how big or small scaled it may be) matters to other people and should matter to you as the business owner too.

With an active consumer-audience, everything you post, say and do on your online business pages greatly reflect your attitude and image as a brand or company. And since the Internet is like a vast space of wasteland with a huge population, people’s reactions or feedback about your business will surely vary greatly and the way you handle these feedback matters to the public and to your business. That’s why it is important to have an online marketing plan on hand to have a precise direction

So here are five consumer behaviors to take note of and some tips on how to handle them efficiently.

1.) Great Expectations.

No pressure, but most consumers nowadays has very high expectations especially that they can easily find and switch companies whenever they find a certain company bad. So it’s kind of hard to retain customers because thanks to the Internet, people can search for other companies that they find much better in terms of product and service.

Handling this situation is like going back to the basics of marketing but is still very applicable for an online marketing plan like:

  • Ø Make sure your product/service is up to your quality standards. This is always the basic principle in every business. No good marketing strategy or PR can ever cover-up a bad product.
  • Ø Deliver the promise. Of course, if you say you’ll deliver the product in 2 days time, then make sure you could. Any delivery later than that will frustrate your customers and may be grounds for them to switch companies.
  • Ø Have employees in charge of customer services. If you have given an email address for queries or a phone number for that matter, make sure you have someone ready on your line to answer it. Consumers won’t have much patience with unanswered emails or calls because technology made communication faster and they expect it to be so. If they find that no one is there on the other end to assist them with their queries, this may be cause for them to look for another company that can provide them with what they need.

Technology had made our world so fast-paced that every hour or minute matters for consumers. To let your business survive today, you must adapt and provide products or services the fastest way possible, but still with quality of course.

2.) The Outspoken ones.

Social Media integration is crucial in every online marketing plan. Without this, your business’ online presence is definitely incomplete. Yet the thing is, it is not enough to make a social media account for your business, you must also update it regularly and assign someone to check and reply to posts and moderate everything.

People can stay anonymous or unreachable online that’s why a lot of people can say whatever they like about anything online. And it is inevitable that some previous customers of yours will be explicit about their feedback about you—and yes, it might hurt but don’t let it sink onto your nerves cause you might end up catastrophically like the real story here about Boner’s BBQ.

So how do you deal with a customer feedback? Basically, most business owners ignore them and let them be but it’s a bit different when it comes to social sites like Facebook wherein anyone can comment or reply to someone they agree or don’t agree with. Never let negative feedback pile up on your wall or comment boxes without any explanation or answer on your side so better check your social pages from time to time.

Here are some common not so positive feedback a business could get:

  • Service is slow/bad.
  • Employees are not accommodating.
  • I did not get my items on time (late delivery).
  • I paid more than what was promised me.
  • The product is not as good as I’ve expected.

Problems regarding product quality should be taken note of especially if many customers have already said the same thing. It’s a way for you to figure out how you can improve your products better. With regards to bad employees and slow or bad services feedback, ask the customer which branch (if you have other branches) and which time of the day were they in. That way, you can trace and fix the problem with the right personnel.

It is best to take negative feedback positively. If possible, thank the customer for sending in his or her comments and apologize for whatever inconvenience your business might have caused and promise something as a compensation like this:

“Thank you sir/ma’am for the feedback and we apologize for the inconvenience. Rest assured that we will look into the problem and take appropriate steps as soon as possible. In the meantime, we are willing to give a refund if you can present a proof of transaction. Thank you so much!”

And here are the things you should avoid whenever you reply to a negative feedback:

  • Ø Refrain from using inappropriate words.
  • Ø Don’t and never insult your customers. This will only attract a lot more people into the conversation and ta-da, you’ll go viral (in a negative way) which is unhealthy for your business.
  • Ø Don’t make promises of compensations if you cannot do it.

You don’t have to actually go through every negative feedback just to answer everyone’s needs. As usual, you can never please everybody. Just take note of the most common complaints and as much as possible, take responsibility of pressing issues (like a customer wanting a refund or exchange).

3.) Smart and resourceful shoppers.

Consumers are so tech-savvy nowadays and as a result, they can browse through different products and prices just to find the best bargain they can have. Moreover, customer reviews, social media forums and blogs can greatly affect consumer decision. This is probably the most difficult to handle because we cannot control on where consumers choose to go to find reviews and information about products and brands. However, this is not an excuse to not participate in these realms. If you can provide an official website for your business, then it’s good but it is not enough. You need other pages like social sites and blogs to redirect other people into your own site since it’s what most people look for first.

In other words, you have to also make use of Content Marketing or Inbound Marketing as part of your online marketing plan to be able to provide information to your target market whenever they need it. Even though your business can thrive with good customer reviews and recommendations, consumers nowadays will still look for some information that comes straight from the horse’s mouth.

video marketing 300x171 Why Video Marketing Should Be Included in Your Content Marketing Strategy?

Online Marketing is usually associated with Inbound Marketing or Content Marketing along with SEO services and Social Media outreaching. And yes, it’s true that online marketing greatly involves making useful and entertaining content along with Social Media interaction to reach out to customers but most of the time, content is greatly focused just on articles.

Although informative and engaging articles might be the very core of a Content Marketing Strategy, it is not however limited to such. And we have to admit that articles can get pretty boring no matter how well-written it is; that’s why articles are best coupled with graphics or more so, included with videos.

Videos or short audio-video presentations had already been used by many online marketers and here are some reasons why:

  • Great Entertaining Value- people don’t need to read a lengthy article; they just have to watch the video and learn from it.
  • Can convert a big idea into a matter of minutes- which is more convenient for some audiences especially that
  • Highly-shareable- videos can be embedded on some social pages thus interested viewers don’t need to open another webpage just to see it.

Plus, according to a study by Forrester, websites with a good video marketing strategy can increase their likelihood of being ranked on the first page of Google results by as much as 53 times. With better rankings, the probability of your leads and sales get better along with it.

So how do you start off with a video marketing strategy? Aside from brainstorming and creating a good video concept which is always a given in a content marketing strategy, you should also incorporate a basic technique of SEO- and that is by using the right keywords.

Of course, you can’t embed keywords on the video itself, so you have to input them on the video title tags, tag fields and in the summary of the video. Make sure you choose the right keywords just like how you choose one for an article.

And of course, don’t forget to make your video shareable! Social sites like Facebook and Twitter can embed videos from a link thus sharing it with your network and a whole lot of other people.

If you find it difficult to start a video concept for the first time, you can actually “recycle” ideas from your previous content and convert them into an audio-visual one. Your audience will surely find it useful and more engaging.

content marketing 300x225 10 Things You Need to Achieve A Successful Online Content Marketing Campaign

An Online Content Marketing campaign is what almost every business is going for. More and more are realizing that providing useful content and engaging with clients online can leverage branding and bring in more leads and consequently, conversions.

Unlike traditional outbound marketing, online content marketing can be done without tapping big-conglomerate media industries and expensive ad agencies and that’s just one of its advantages. Content marketing brings clients and the brand on a closer level. People are not just a passive audience in this strategy but they are now active readers, sharers and contributors for every content—be it articles, videos or pictures.

Yet what does a business need to achieve a successful content marketing strategy?

A content marketing campaign has similar needs of that of an outbound marketing strategy but it does not need to come off expensive, several agencies may be hired but it is completely optional. A business owner (especially for a small or medium sized business) can do content marketing by his or her own yet somehow, the campaign still needs a moderator that can take care of the marketing campaign especially when the owner is far more busy with “business stuff”. Basically, here is the manpower you need to achieve a successful content marketing campaign:

1.) Blog/Copywriter- of course you need a good writer! You need someone to create articles for you and manage or moderate your blog for you.

2.) An SEO Expert- having an SEO expert is also like having a marketing research team. SEO experts make sure that your website and blog contents are “searchable” and they also make sure that you actually used the right keywords for your content. They also ensure quality link building and maintain a search-engine friendly website for you.

3.) Graphic Designer/Video Editor- aside from a writer, you must also have a good graphic designer and or video editor to make other types of content like graphics, infographics and short videos. Such content will be refreshing for most of your audience.

4.) Professional Web Designer- this may be optional but if you really love to have a top-quality website, then you might consider hiring one (they may be a bit expensive though).

5.) Social Media Moderator- of course, someone should be in charge of reaching out and interacting with your clients and audience in social media pages. A social media moderator can be in charge of building connections from social pages to increase content shares and brand awareness.

However, content marketing is not just about the type of people you need, it is also about the required skills and the level of professionalism that your team should have. Remember that anything on the World Wide Web can spread like wildfire and no one wants to get the wrong attention especially for a corporate or brand image. So here are the qualities that your content marketing team should possess.

1.) Creativity- marketing always needs creativity. You’ve got to be fresh, original and entertaining to attract more people in.

2.) Effective Communication Skills- content marketing is always about articles, videos and graphics that should communicate well with your target market. How can you hook them in if you can’t make your message clear enough?

3.) Resourcefulness- your team should know how to research and recycle ideas and represent them in a refreshing way. One just has to be resourceful when all those creative juices are gone.

4.) Public Relations Etiquette- any good or bad (especially the bad) remarks can go viral thus, in a matter of minutes; your company may be facing a PR crisis. So make sure your team can handle both positive and negative feedback well at a professional level.

5.) Patience- this is much needed from you as an employer. Understand that your team may take some time before actually getting good results. Content planning, strategy plans and execution always takes a while before it becomes successful.

So those are the 10 things you need to achieve a successful online content marketing campaign—5 skilled people with 5 desirable qualities.

Content marketing is sometimes called Inbound Marketing because of the concept of bringing people in through content and information they need not because of reaching out to them through television ads, radio ads and the like at any given time. The thing is, content marketing “knows” what people look for thus they know which content or information should be made beforehand. content strategy 300x300 Online Content is KING—But You Still Need SEO: Top 3 Content Marketing Tips

Yes, yes it’s the almost old adage again, “content is king”, but you can’t just let a very good content sit there and wait for the grass to grow. Somehow, you need to put a little effort to make your content known. So it’s time to take off that neurotic writer persona and let out that outgoing socialite-marketer side of you. You have to develop both skills if you want to enter digital marketing successfully.

An original, useful and engaging content is always good as it is. However, you must also accept the fact that the Internet is like a vast space of wasteland that also has slightly different rules of living to that of the real world.

In the Internet, there are many existing blogs, websites and social sites that compete for attention and traffic; and if you are planning on making a good online content, you must also adapt to some steps that will make your content breathe inside the virtual world. By “breathe” we mean getting much attention and traffic from the right crowd and enough social shares to make it more known or even viral.

It is never an easy task, but you can get started by getting acquainted with Search Engine Optimization or SEO techniques. Now, SEO is quite complicated and it does have many aspects but we’ll cover the basic stuff that can make your online content more search-engine friendly.

1.) The RIGHT keywords.

Fitting the right keywords for your online content is a basic step if you want your article to be more searchable. The keywords that you use will let search engines know what your article’s main topic is all about so whenever a search query matches it, they will consider it getting onto their results page.

Just remember to use main keywords that are:

  • Shorter- people tend to enter short-tailed keywords on the search box.
  • Long-tail keywords are also useful but don’t overuse it.
  • Choose keywords that are RELATED and RELEVANT to your topic’s subject.

Main keywords are only one per article and they are mostly the shorter ones. They are recommended to be used at least 4-5 times in a 500 word article. Overusing a keyword is not favorable to most search engines especially to Google; it will only recognize your article as spam.

Long-tail keywords on the other hand can either be one or two per article but each long-tail keyword should be mentioned only at least once in the entire article.

Free keyword search tools like Google’s Keyword Tool can be of big help if you are looking for the right keywords to use. You only need to type certain keywords and the tool can show results whether such keyword is typed in their search box frequently or infrequently.

It is important to use the right keywords, don’t use keywords that are misleading. It’s called “cloaking” and Google is not very friendly with such practices.

2.) Your social pulse matters.

Because social sites like Facebook and Twitter are always trending, search engines also take into consideration the number of shares and even the number of comments your article is getting. For them, it means that your article is something that many people find to be useful and relevant to their queries.

It may seem simple—posting and sharing your online content to social sites to get people to read it; but it isn’t. First off, you have to at least share the content with the right crowd that will surely be interested to whatever you’re talking about. So you have to get chummy-chummy with the right type of people.

There’s no need to rush though, you need a considerable amount of patience in this game so just let your site take some time. You also need to take some time in building your social connections though, so it’s okay!

3.) Gather quality links.

In SEO, links are always important. Before, it was quite easy to build links because paying is prevalent and many link farming sites accept links regardless of the relevance of the website. Thus, it created false, spammy, low-quality sites ranking fairly in search engines because like social media shares, links are also criteria of votes or popularity for search engines.

Today, search engines especially Google found a way to recognize low-quality links and it does penalize sites who still make use of such practices. So to be on the safer side, you need to get quality links for your site or content. There are a number of ways to do that but first; we have to define what a “quality link” is.

So quality links are basically links you get from reliable sources or pages that are related or relevant to your niche. It should either be from a trusted or known site or from an authoritative or famous figure in your industry.

Basically, quality links seem hard to get and yes, it sure is. Yet there’s no harm in trying and trying until you succeed. Here are several ways to get them:

  • Guest posting- this requires much time and effort in your part but when you get to it, it’s rewarding. Guest posting is the act of providing free, high-quality articles to a website which accepts such (there are many actually, depending on your niche). You just have to have at least good, quality content ready and contact a relevant and trusted site who is willing to accept guest posts. You have to read and follow their instructions though, since most websites who accept guest posts have their own standards on the kind of article they will accept.
  •  Engage your readers with a thought-provoking question or anything controversial. That way, some of them may be compelled to answer and link/share your post!
  •  Run an activity or contest- you don’t have to spend anything to do this. It can be a logo design contest, photo contest or article writing contest; and the winner will be featured in your blog and other pages. Or if you have enough resources, why not offer a cash prize? People love contests and they would most likely share it with their friends by linking it.

SEO is definitely not dead as what some authority bloggers might say. Original, high-quality online content may be what Google is campaigning for and it is what they encourage web masters to do but in the back of all it, improved SEO techniques are still needed to let your content survive in the vast world of the Internet.

Yet as the saying goes, “content is king!” – True, but you still need to market it through SEO. That’s why Inbound Marketing services or sometimes called Online Content Marketing are making its way in the online industry. It’s a service of good quality content coupled with quality SEO techniques. If you want to know more about Inbound Marketing, contact us at scaleupseo.com

Affordable Inbound Marketing 300x225 Why Inbound Marketing Services are Needed to Skyrocket Your Online Business Brand
Starting up a small online business is tough, you have to come up with a business plan, execute it, get customers and maintain customer satisfaction. It takes up a lot of work and not to mention resources to finally make a name in the industry and reach success.

An online business seems pretty easy on the surface; with millions of people lurking in it, surely your product or services will get somebody’s attention. Yet with the millions of “possible” audience you can get from the Internet, how can you be so sure that your target market will actually be able to find your domain? And the Internet is also like a television or radio; remember it also has a lot of channels in the form of websites that also compete for attention and page visits.

“That’s easy to solve, we’ll make use of SEO!”

Well yes, many online business owners are right in saying that they can use SEO to put up with the online market competition. And yes, SEO can indeed help level up their visits and sales in a matter of time but nowadays, it is not just enough.

But WHY?

Nowadays, consumers are becoming more and more information-hungry, most of them look for the best deals, the best quality and the best in service businesses before deciding which product and which brand they should patronize. And of course, it is still with the help of search engines so you still need SEO somehow but more than that, you need awesome and useful content that people can dig in. And that’s what Inbound Marketing services is all about.

So what’s Inbound Marketing?

Inbound Marketing or sometimes called Content Marketing is a relatively new marketing strategy that involves the use of content or information to hook up a certain group of people or a target market that will find the certain content interesting and useful in his or her day to day life or with certain problems.

Like for example, this article is made to target online business owners who are probably researching about Inbound Marketing services and what it can really do to their business. So that’s why it is made to provide information and while possibly promoting our own services. Pretty blunt eh?

But it is not part for an Inbound Marketing strategy to be pushy about their own products or services unlike most traditional advertisements. The core of it is to provide content that is definitely useful to a certain market and only do the promotion with subtleness.

So how can Inbound Marketing services really skyrocket your brand?

 By providing high-quality and useful content, your brand might eventually become a credible, authority leader in your niche.
 Online visitors will keep coming back to your site looking for basic information, solution to problems and etc.
 Your brand awareness will increase with the increasing usefulness of your content.
What type of content is needed?
Basically, you have to come up with content that is relevant or related to your industry. For example you are selling clothes online, then you can make a blog about fashion tips and fashion alerts; just some information that will be helpful to your clients in relation with your products.

Generally, you can have content that are:

 Though-provoking.
 Emotionally touching.
 Funny but witty.
 Provides a new idea.
 Explains a general idea.
Moreover, content is not limited to articles only. It can be graphics or infographics and even a video. The goal is to make it interesting, informative and attention-grabbing.

Where can I post my content?

There are a lot of places you can post your content for free. Aside from your own website, you can make use of free blogging services and social media.

Basic information like your business’ contact details, your “About Me” section and product reviews and testimonials can also be used as part of your content marketing strategy. It is most useful to your market especially if they need to know more about you and how to contact you for queries and purchases.

Inbound Marketing agencies are almost widespread over the Internet. Most of the time, their services are coupled with SEO and keyword research to maximize the effectiveness of your future content. Inbound Marketing Outsourcing 300x182 Why You Should Incorporate Inbound Marketing Strategies for your Online Business in 2013

It’s 2013! And for the past few years, consumer and audience behavior are changing and so should your marketing strategy! Your Marketing 2013 plan should include Inbound Marketing strategies as a very important agenda. It’s where everyone is heading and it’s better to get ahead of the others.

Marketing trends may have changes and it would be more about connecting, engaging and reaching out to your market on a regular basis. And that’s what Inbound Marketing is all about! People would not just connect to your product or brand, but will also connect to you on an emotional level.

Having an online business also entails a much wider variety of audience that you can possibly have but the problem is that it is so random that it’s almost impossible to actually target them. That’s why the very core of Inbound Marketing is to make informative and entertaining content that your target market is possibly “looking for”.
Here are other reasons why inbound marketing strategies should be incorporated in your business this year.

1.) Consumers are becoming choosy and impatient when it comes to ads.

Consumer and audience alike had been trying to avoid TV and radio ads over the past few years. Who wants to see a product promotion that one does not need? Moreover, it is a major interruption to their favorite TV or radio program. So nowadays, new technologies like MP3 players, DVDs and online TVs are much preferred by people who want their own uninterrupted entertainment at their own time. If that’s the case, how could you possibly reach your market?

And that’s where Inbound Marketing or Content Marketing comes in. Providing useful, educational and promotional content for your product comes in handy to every consumer who needs the information. In that way, your marketing strategy is not interruptive and consumers are more willing to actually buy your product because why would they look for any information from it in the first place?

2.) More and more consumers opt to find information online.

It cannot be denied that online marketing would really involve a content marketing strategy. Looking for product reviews, product information and business information are now mostly done on the Internet. And if your presence is not there, then you’re greatly missing the game. Producing useful and relevant content is the very core of inbound marketing strategies.

3.) Inbound Marketing is relatively affordable compared to the old-timely outbound marketing.

So what’s more expensive, a writer’s fee or the talent fee you pay to a celebrity or personality just to endorse your product? Well of course, a writer’s fee is much lower compared to that of a celebrity’s talent fee. Aside from the talent fee, there’s still a production fee and airtime fee which are totally off the charts.

On the contrary, an inbound marketing service only needs a few handfuls of experts to create successful and readable content. Moreover, airtime fee is no problem because there are many online sites that can be used for free. But if you want to take your business to another level and decide to get a website, there’s a fee no doubt, but it’s still significantly lower compared to TV or radio airtime fee.

So marketing in 2013 does not need to be extravagant, expensive or star-studded, it only needs to be simple but very relatable to the emotional and the social needs of your market. It’s time to connect your products or services to your common consumer and interact with them on a more personal level.
